Infinia ML is seeking a DevOps Engineer with a desire to join a new and growing company focused on cutting-edge machine learning and deep learning technology. We provide our customers with immediate business impact through technology solutions that are tailored to their data and business needs. You will work with a dynamic team of researchers, engineers, and data scientists, collaborating on delivery of new machine learning (ML) algorithms and their application to multiple fields including human resources, job matching, natural language processing, optical character recognition, and business intelligence. We are looking for individuals who are excited about being exposed to new problems and challenges while working in a flexible and versatile environment.


Typical activities will include:


  • Designing and creating scalable backend infrastructure for ML-driven applications
  • Distilling fast-moving product requirements into tangible engineering tasks and designs
  • Steering the future development of our organization's products and infrastructure
  • Working closely with our ML specialists to build applications with a strong focus on data-driven decisions
  • Shaping our engineering culture by coming up with ideas, tools, and infrastructure wherever you see a problem to be solved
  • Identifying needs of other teams and building tools, workflows, and systems to support them
  • Owning projects end-to-end: from design, through development, to production
  • Working with security teams to keep out bad actors while enabling the team to get work done


Some specific technologies we use and would expect this person to be interested in discussing:


  • AWS, Azure, and / or other cloud and cluster-based Infrastructure
  • Role-based security, auditing, and adding layers of isolation
  • Configuration Management such as Ansible, Terraform, Chef, Puppet, etc
  • Container and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
  • Networking principles such as DNS, TCP/IP, ICMP, ARP, TTL, and MTU
  • Python and readiness to read code and pick up other languages as the situation requires
  • RESTful API / Web Services in Python
  • (Bonus) Deploying TensorFlow, PyTorch and/or other deep-learning frameworks (to generalize, this could be seen as deploying other people's code you may or may not understand completely)
  • (Bonus) Big data processing tools and when to use them
